GLORY TO GOD

PSALM 48

(Psa 48:1 KJV) A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah. Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

(Psa 48:2 KJV) Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

(Psa 48:3 KJV) God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

(Psa 48:4 KJV) For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

(Psa 48:5 KJV) They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

(Psa 48:6 KJV) Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

(Psa 48:7 KJV) Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

(Psa 48:8 KJV) As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

(Psa 48:9 KJV) We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

(Psa 48:10 KJV) According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

(Psa 48:11 KJV) Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

(Psa 48:12 KJV) Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

(Psa 48:13 KJV) Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

(Psa 48:14 KJV) For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

PSALM 19: 1-9

(Psa 19:1 KJV) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork.

(Psa 19:2 KJV) Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night showeth knowledge.

(Psa 19:3 KJV) There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

(Psa 19:4 KJV) Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

(Psa 19:5 KJV) Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

(Psa 19:6 KJV) His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

(Psa 19:7 KJV) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

(Psa 19:8 KJV) The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

(Psa 19:9 KJV) The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

LUKE 2: 8-14

(Luke 2:8 KJV) And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

(Luke 2:9 KJV) And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

(Luke 2:10 KJV) And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

(Luke 2:11 KJV) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

(Luke 2:12 KJV) And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

(Luke 2:13 KJV) And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

(Luke 2:14 KJV) Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Robert G. Lee, a great Baptist pastor writes, " God is the creator behind all creation; the Lawmaker behind all law. He is the supreme fact of history. He is the supreme fact of science; of philosophy; of life; of death; of time; of eternity. God is the great need of the human heart. "only the fool has said in his heart ‘there is no God’."

David writes a prayer of Moses when he declares in Psalms 90:1 and 2 --

(Psa 90:1 KJV) A Prayer of Moses the man of God. LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

(Psa 90:2 KJV) Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

GOD IS SUCH A MAGNIFICENT AND CREATIVE GENIUS!

We tenderly caress a delicate flower petal; marvel at the improbability of the bumble- bee; study the aerodynamics of the humming bird; and scrutinize the industrious little ant.

GOD IS SUCH A MAGNIFICENT AND CREATIVE GENIUS!

Scientists are continually fascinated by the human body and it’s many functioning parts. The human brain is especially intriguing and it’s secrets have yet to be fully understood and calculated.

(Gen 2:7 KJV) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

GOD IS SUCH MAGNIFICENT AND CREATIVE GENIUS!

A. We glorify God in His wisdom. He is the Author of universal order; of matter, life and mind.

(Isa 55:8 KJV) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

(Isa 55:9 KJV) For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

B. We glorify God in His holiness. His holiness is totally pure and undefiled.

David said, "He is the high and holy One."

Isaiah said, "The Seraphim cries holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Hosts."

John, in the Revelation, says that the creatures around the throne cry, "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come."

Jesus taught that God is Holy and referred to Him as Holy Father.

I could speak of the glory of God’s goodness; of His mercy; of his justice; of His omnipotence; of His omnipresence; of his patience; of His truth; or a hundred other attributes.

C. But I finally direct your attention to the glory of God’s love.

John declares that God is love. Jeremiah said that God’s love is everlasting. Paul said that God’s love is great, whewrewith He has loved us, and has given us life through Jesus.

On that Judean hillside came the sweetest message man could ever hear.

LUKE 2:8-14

The Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John recorded His memoirs. They recount His teachings, His miracles, His wisdom, his mercy, His compassion, and His love. They narrate the events surrounding His life, his ministry, his arrest, His trial, and the horrors of His crucifixion.

And, just in case someone might not be impressed by these verifiable historical facts, John boasts,

(John 21:25 KJV) And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

Jesus is the epitome of God’s love toward man. He is the perfectness of God , manifested in the flesh, to help us know and love God.

Listen the these Biblical revelations of Jesus.

JOHN 3:16

(John 3:16 KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

ACTS 4:7-12

(Acts 4:7 KJV) And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

(Acts 4:8 KJV) Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

(Acts 4:9 KJV) If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

(Acts 4:10 KJV) Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

(Acts 4:11 KJV) This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

(Acts 4:12 KJV) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

PHILLIPIANS 2:5-11

(Phil 2:5 KJV) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

(Phil 2:6 KJV) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

(Phil 2:7 KJV) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

(Phil 2:8 KJV) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

(Phil 2:9 KJV) Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

(Phil 2:10 KJV) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

(Phil 2:11 KJV) And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

HEBREWS 2:9-18

(Heb 2:9 KJV) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

(Heb 2:10 KJV) For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

(Heb 2:11 KJV) For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

(Heb 2:12 KJV) Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

(Heb 2:13 KJV) And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

(Heb 2:14 KJV) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

(Heb 2:15 KJV) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

(Heb 2:16 KJV) For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

(Heb 2:17 KJV) Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

(Heb 2:18 KJV) For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour (HELP) them that are tempted.

1ST PETER 1:16 AND 17

(1 Pet 1:16 KJV) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

(1 Pet 1:17 KJV) And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

1ST JOHN 5:11-15

(1 John 5:11 KJV) And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

(1 John 5:12 KJV) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

(1 John 5:13 KJV) These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

(1 John 5:14 KJV) And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

(1 John 5:15 KJV) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

REVELATION 19:9-16

(Rev 19:9 KJV) And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

(Rev 19:10 KJV) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

(Rev 19:11 KJV) And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

(Rev 19:12 KJV) His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

(Rev 19:13 KJV) And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

(Rev 19:14 KJV) And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

(Rev 19:15 KJV) And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

(Rev 19:16 KJV) And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Jesus is our Lord and Savior. Let us glorify God for His great love; for His perfect gift to us; and for the eternal life which we have received through Jesus Christ, His Son.

"OH COME LET US ADORE HIM. OH COME LET US ADORE HIM. O COME LET US ADORE HIM. CHRIST, THE LORD."
