GOD’S PROMISES CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

2ND PETER 1:4

2 Pet 1:4 (KJV) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

INTRODUCTION:

We live a time of change, alteration and deterioration. It seems the world around us has gone crazy! Morals have become perverted; values of right and wrong have become distorted; and simply living life has become confused in a maze of situational ethics and questionable codes of behavior.

Men, women and young people struggle for a sense of stability and direction. We all long for identity and self worth, clinging to the hope that something out there will finally make sense. Surely, confusion, hatred, suspicion, wickedness, lust and perversion is not all there is to life and living.

Well, praise the Lord, that isn’t all there is to life!

We Christians know the truth. We need to live and declare the reality of God’s promises and prove by our living that they work.

We must remember God’s Word never changes and it is unaffected by the events of any generation. Regardless of the depth of the degradation and evil of the day, His Word still functions in power and authority!!

HIS PROMISES ARE WORTHY AND TRUE. WE CAN TRUST THEM BECAUSE WE CAN TRUST HIM !!

Closing:

These scriptures I have read are merely representative of the thousands of promises in the Bible. Promises, which we can choose to ignore, debate, reject or cherish.

His Word cannot help us, it cannot impact our life if we carelessly cast it aside and neglect the precious life it offers.

We need to learn to live in the safety and shelter of His Word. We need to learn to let God do what He says He will do for us.

We need to testify as David in Psalms 119:105: (Read)

My prayer is that God will help us understand the power and effectiveness of His promises and that we will be able to allow them to brighten our life, to liberate our spirit, and to empower our witness.

Will you purpose today to renew your love and appreciation for the Bible? To cherish it’s promises? To honor it’s veracity? And to live by it’s instruction?
