PEOPLE WITH GOD TOUCHED HEARTS

1ST SAMUEL 10: 9 & 26

(1 Sam 10:9 NKJV) So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day.

(1 Sam 10:26 NKJV) And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and valiant men went with him, whose hearts God had touched.

Philippians 2:15

(Phil 2:15 NKJV) that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,

This is a generation of non-identity. We are known by digits, holes punched in cards, and data entered into computers. The psychological implications of this non-human contact has caused many people to become disoriented and lonely. In a world populated by 5 billion souls, loneliness is the number one emotional trauma in most people’s lives.

Machines do our jobs, computers do our thinking, and between the bottle and pills people are trying to cope with the anxiety of living in this confused and mixed up world.

Our cities are crowded with people who are trying to sty alive and are doing anything necessary to put food in their mouth; many existing in filth and squalor that would make us sick to our stomach.

Then there are those who are rich and can buy anything their heart desires. Yet, many have the same feeling of nothingness as the alcoholic, the prostitute, the addict or the "born loser."

This is not what God desires for His people. He wants you to know who you are, who you belong to, and where you are going. He wants you to have purpose and direction in your life.

As Paul gloriously states in (Gal 2:20 TLB) I have been crucified with Christ: and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is a result of my trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE WITH GOD TOUCHED HEARTS?

A. Spirit led People. People of inspiration; people who can challenge and dare. People who are not afraid to trust God and follow His leading.

2. Like Philip, the evangelist. - (Led the Ethiopian eunuch to Christ)

3. Like Paul and Barnabas whom the Holy Spirit divinely chose for ministry.

4. Like John, who on the Isle of Patmos, penned the Book of the Revelation.

B. Song Filled People.

1. Like David, who said, "He hath put a new song in my mouth."

2. Like Paul and Silas, who, in prison, sand praises to God.

C. Courageous People.

1. Like Daniel, who refused to worship a false god.

2. Like the three Hebrew young men who faced the fire for their faith.

3. Like the writer of Hebrews who says, "The Lord is my helper and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Heb. 13:6

D. Witnessing People.

1. The Disciples "went everywhere preaching the word."

2. Jesus said, "Ye are my witnesses."

You have a choice. You can live in this empty and lonely world and be depressed by it’s isolation and friendliness.

Or,

You can choose to be a person of great faith and allow the Spirit of God to fill you with power and anointing.

Long before Jesse Jackson ever said, "I am somebody," God had already pronounced meaning to our life.

God’s Word says, (2 Cor 5:17 NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

(2 Cor 5:17 TLB) When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!
