REDEEMED ! HOW I LOVE TO PROCLAIM IT !
(1 Pet 1:13 KJV) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
(1 Pet 1:14 KJV) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
(1 Pet 1:15 KJV) But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
(1 Pet 1:16 KJV) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
(1 Pet 1:17 KJV) And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
(1 Pet 1:18 KJV) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
(1 Pet 1:19 KJV) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
(1 Pet 1:20 KJV) Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
(1 Pet 1:21 KJV) Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
(1 Pet 1:22 KJV) Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
(1 Pet 1:23 KJV) Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
(1 Pet 1:24 KJV) For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
(1 Pet 1:25 KJV) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
Introduction:
Everyone has a pet subject about which they like to talk. Politics; your job; music; automobiles; boat; sports; vacation; computers; clothes; whatever.
Most of us are always willing and able to talk about subjects that are important to us.
Today I want to direct our attention to the most important subject of our life -- the one subject which is the dearest of all to us --
our redeemption.
A. Redeemed -- To be free from sin. ( Romans 3:23-26; Col. 1:14)
(Rom 3:23 KJV) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
(Rom 3:24 KJV) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
(Rom 3:25 KJV) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
(Rom 3:26 KJV) To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
(Col 1:14 KJV) In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
B. Redeemed -- To receive the promise of His Spirit. (Galations 3:11-14)
(Gal 3:11 KJV) But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
(Gal 3:12 KJV) And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
(Gal 3:13 KJV) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
(Gal 3:14 KJV) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
C. Redeemed -- To receive eternal life. (Hebrews 9:11-15; 27,28)
(Heb 9:11 KJV) But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
(Heb 9:12 KJV) Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
(Heb 9:13 KJV) For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
(Heb 9:14 KJV) How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
(Heb 9:15 KJV) And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
(Heb 9:27 KJV) And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
(Heb 9:28 KJV) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
